Hatch Declines to Attend Confirmation Hearing
WASHINGTON – Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) today joined other Republican members of the Judiciary Committee in declining to attend the hearing on Judge David Hamilton’s nomination to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Despite repeated requests for reasonable time, Chairman Patrick Leahy’s rushed scheduling made it impossible to be prepared to question Judge Hamilton and evaluate his long record.
