With the opening of the new Capitol Visitors Center, visitors to Washington, D.C. have the opportunity to gain a much more in-depth understanding of the U.S. Capitol. The center offers a wide variety of educational exhibits and a brief film that tell the story of the U.S. Congress. Visitors also receive informative and interpretive tours of the U.S. Capitol from professional tour guides.

Free tours of the historic Capitol building are offered Monday through Saturday, 8:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. We invite you to come and experience the U.S. Capitol and the new Capitol Visitors Center. You can reserve a tour through the U.S. Capitol Visitors Center. Reservations can be made up to four months in advance.
